On Saturday, 8th November 2025, Doveland Wumba Primary School hosted an extraordinary cultural event themed “Fusion à Deux – One World, Many Cultures.” The celebration showcased the beauty of diversity by bringing together the rich traditions of Nigerian and French cultures in a vibrant and captivating display.

The event featured a delightful fusion of performances and exhibitions from various Wumba classes, each presenting a unique blend of traditional costumes, cultural expressions, and mouth-watering dishes from both cultures. Pupils arrived dressed in colourful Nigerian and French attire — from elegant agbada and ankara outfits to classic French fashion styles — transforming the school grounds into a dazzling cultural showcase.

Guests were treated to a wide variety of traditional dishes, including signature Nigerian delicacies and iconic French cuisines. This culinary experience highlighted the uniqueness of both cultures while emphasizing the power of unity through food, creativity, and shared experiences.

“Fusion à Deux” was more than just an event; it was a learning experience that encouraged pupils to appreciate cultural diversity, global citizenship, and mutual respect. The atmosphere was lively, engaging, and filled with excitement as parents, staff, and students came together to celebrate the beauty of cultural harmony.

The Executive Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Justina Ulunma Chukwu (FNAE), was in attendance, and her presence greatly inspired everyone. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to her for her immense support and constant encouragement, which contributed significantly to the success of the programme. Her unwavering commitment to cultural education and holistic development continues to drive excellence across the Doveland community.
